What Happens If You Post To Instagram Everyday For 6 Months? Let’s find out…
I’m so intrigued by this question.
What if I give up on my insecurities, shortfalls, and (veil of) privacy.
My gut says I’ll be pleasantly surprised, my mind says I’ll resent the decision.
For me it’s more about discovering some truths about the platforms most of our lives have become dependent on and then deciding for myself whether my life has “improved” or “declined” as a result.
In the process I’ll toe the line of involving my family, but inevitably they’ll be impacted one way or another. My hope is we’ll all gain – both from the positive and negative experiences – and be better because of it.
Here’s what I hope to discover:
- Will you create a following?
- Do you lose yourself? – AND/OR – Do you find yourself?
- What do you discover about the platform?
- Can you make an impact?
- Can you connect with other high profile influencers?
- Is there an underlying problem that you can solve for other’s starting out?
- Do you respect technology or do you abhor it?
Full disclosure: I spend more time consuming social media than I’d like to admit and in some sense I feel relieved to begin a journey where there’s more give than take.
I’m also just as worried that I’ll become completely engrossed with engaging my audience (that currently doesn’t exist) and neglect the elements of my life that truly matter to me.
To use a euphemism that I think every older (30+) person should adopt at this point “if you can’t beat ’em, join ’em”.
